Where to have your maternity photoshoot in Adelaide, South Australia.

When it comes to maternity photography, the location can completely transform the look and feel of your maternity photoshoot. The right spot sets the tone… whether you’re after something romantic, carefree or empowering. I’ve found that when my maternity client’s are surrounded by scenery that feels comfortable and inspiring, they relax into the moment. That’s when the most intimate, beautiful and natural photos happen.

Adelaide is full of incredible backdrops for maternity sessions, and I’m lucky enough to photograph pregnancy journey’s in some of the most stunning locations. These are a few of my favourite locations, each with their own unique beauty and atmosphere.

Port Willunga

Port Willunga has a softness to it that I adore. The way the light hits the rocks and reflects off the water is just magic. The textured rocks give your photos depth and it’s a beach that is perfect for the whole family. I love watching my maternity clients sink into the moment here, barefoot in the sand, with the sound of the ocean behind them.

Maslin Beach

This spot is dramatic and bold, with cliffs that rise up and create the most incredible backdrop. Maslin Beach is where I go when a pregnant Mum to be wants something empowering and a little adventurous. It’s not a spot for kids since it’s also a nudist beach, but it’s perfect for creating those powerful, stunning maternity photos that feel like you.

Every one of these locations has its own mood… from romantic to adventurous to family friendly. What matters most is finding the place that feels like you. When you’re comfortable and relaxed, the intimacy and connection always shine through.

Blackwood Forest

Blackwood Forest is one of those places you’d never stumble across unless you were looking for it… tucked just off the main road in Hawthorndene, hidden away like a secret. That’s part of what makes it so special. It has the most beautiful mix of open fields, rolling hills and tall pine trees that stretch endlessly into the sky. I love this spot because it gives so much variety: soft golden field photos, silhouette photos on the hill and those moody, intimate maternity shots among the towering forest. It’s the perfect balance of romantic and family friendly
(you can even bring along your dog).

Tennyson Dunes

Tennyson is a quiet, family friendly spot west of Adelaide with a beautiful walk through a beach reserve and dunes before reaching the shoreline. The long stretch of sand gives plenty of space to move around and feel relaxed during your session. I love how the soft dunes and open beach create a natural, calm setting where couples and families can feel comfortable and enjoy the moment together.
